THESIS PROPOSAL SEMINAR

THESIS PROPOSAL SEMINAR

This course gives a chance for students to compose and present their completed thesis proposals. It is expected that students can gain insight from the feedback given by other students and the collaborative lecturers to their seminar presentations in order to develop the proposals they are presenting.

SEMINAR ON EFL ISSUES

SEMINAR ON EFL ISSUES

This course facilitates in-depth discussions on current issues, trends, and challenges in the field of English as a Foreign Language (EFL). Students critically analyze research articles, case studies, and policy documents, and then develop their own scholarly articles throughout the semester. Under the guidance of the course lecturer, these articles are refined and presented in a seminar as part of the final assessment. Topics may include curriculum innovation, assessment practices, technology integration, intercultural communication, and teacher professional development. The course emphasizes critical thinking, academic writing, scholarly presentation skills, and the ability to synthesize academic perspectives into coherent arguments. The final expected outcome is a manuscript ready for submission and publication in a SINTA 4 or SINTA 3 indexed journal.

STYLISTICS

STYLISTICS

This course examines the linguistic features and stylistic choices in various literary and non-literary texts, exploring how language is used to convey meaning, evoke emotion, and achieve specific effects. Students analyze phonological, lexical, syntactic, and discourse-level patterns, and apply stylistic theories to prose, poetry, drama, and media texts. The course also develops skills in interpreting style within different cultural, historical, and social contexts. By the end of the course, students will be able to conduct stylistic analysis and produce critical essays that integrate linguistic and literary perspectives.
