SEMESTER I

Develop the student's ability to speak English at the elementary level: greetings, partings, asking time, asking and giving directions, shopping.

Comprehension of vocabulary mastery strategies which covers word formation compounding phrasal verbs, idioms, contacts clues, synonyms, sister-word and collocations acronyms, homonyms, figures of speech, and specific terms

Mata kuliah ini berisi tentang sejarah dan perjuangan PGRI, sifat-sifat dan karakteristik ke PGRI-an, dan peran serta PGRI dalam pratik pembelajaran di sekolah

Develop the students' reading proficiency in English up to intermediate level (approximately 5000 word level) : comprehension of details, main idea and relationship, literal, inferential, and evaluative comprehension of narrative, descriptive and expository type of texts

Develop the students’ knowledge of translation theory and concept, and their skills in translating texts from English into Indonesia: theory and concepts of translation process of translation, language function in communication, meaning translate ability,and the relation of language teaching and translation

Mata kuliah ini merupakan mata kuliah awal yang membahas tentang teori dan praktis  pendidikan, membekali mahasiswa  memahami konsep ilmu pengetahuan, memiliki pengetahuan tentang ilmu pendidikan dan menerapkan ilmu pendidikan dalam masyarakat.

Develop the students ability to understand spoken English of Elementary level: literal,
inferential, and evaluate comprehension of dialogs, narrative and descriptive
types of texts, comprehension of main ideas and details.

Provide the students with the ability to use basic structures of English at both receptive and productive levels: verbs tenses, passive constructions, gerunds, and infinitives, and singular and plural.

Develop the students’ ability to write, good English sentences: sentence-building in narrative, descriptive, and expository paragraphs.
